Cabins (staterooms) can be held (reserved) for a period of time to allow time to complete the booking. The amount of time a cabin is held varies by vendor, although cabins are typically held for 15 to 30 minutes. After the hold period expires, the reserved cabin is automatically returned to the vendor's inventory.
However, if the user exits the function or otherwise chooses not to book the reserved cabin, the cabin should be released back to the vendor's inventory. While releasing the cabin is not strictly required from a transactional standpoint, this transaction is a valuable courtesy for maintaining a professional relationship with the vendor.
See the Cruises Processes topic in the main help for more details about the cruise booking process.
