Vendor Participation Levels

Air, car, and hotel vendors have various participation levels with the Galileo® and Apollo® Computer Reservation Systems (CRS). Levels of participation are defined by the relationship between the CRS and the vendor's database of inventory. Vendors can have:

• A direct, real-time link from the CRS to the vendor database, which provides instantaneous, real-time availabilities, and confirmation.

• No instantaneous link to the CRS, but provide regular updates such as nightly uploads of vendor data to the CRS. This type of access allows for relatively current data on the CRS, but requires a message to the vendor to confirm availability or booking status.

• No direct link between the CRS and the vendor database. All requests and confirmations must be made through messages to the vendor.

All cruise vendors maintain a direct, real-time link between the vendor database and the CRS.
