Status Messages

This appendix describes host and device status messages that can appear in the status areas of the GPM.NET Status window.

The following table describes possible host status messages:

Host Status Message Description

Configuration Reset Required (LCN)

A change to your ClientID configuration is pending and will be downloaded when Galileo Print Manager.net is restarted.

Connected

Connected to the host.

Connecting

Connecting to the host.

Disconnected

No longer connected to the host.

Error

A fundamental failure trying to connect or invalid configuration.

No Devices

Although a host has been configured, no devices have been configured for use.

Notifiable (GPDS Host)

Connected to the Notify Proxy Gateway (NPG) and ready to accept print jobs. This is the standard idle state for a GPDS host.

Obtaining Configuration (LCN Host)

Configuration is being retrieved from the configuration server.

Registering GTIDS (LCN Host)

Usable GTIDs (ones with devices available) are being registered to the host.

Registration Error (GPDS Host)

Device registration to the host failed.

Security Issue (LCN Host)

Authentication to the host failed.

Security Reset Required (GPDS Host)

Authentication to the host failed.

Unavailable

An attempt was made to access a device that was already in use.

The following table describes possible device status messages:

Device Status Message Description

Available

The device appears to be online and available for use.

In Use

The device driver is busy.

Inhibited (GPDS Host)

The queue corresponding to the device is down/inhibited.

Not configured

The device does not exist on the selected host.

Processing (GPDS Host)

The device is in use by the GPDS host.

Processing Error

Device failure occurred while processing the GPDS document.

Timeout

The device driver timed out while waiting for the device.
