Improving Online Help Search Results
The online help Search function is useful for finding topics with a specific phrase or code. However, you may also receive over a hundred search results. This topic contains tips for quickly finding the content you need.
Search Tips
- To search for a phrase, enclose the phrase in quotations. For example, entering "flight timetable" returns only topics with the phrase flight timetable but will not returns topics with the words flight and timetable in different sentences.
- Words with variant endings are returned in results. For example, a search for fare returns topics with fares and FareBasisCode.
- Boolean operators are supported and are not case sensitive.
AND narrows the search and retrieves only the topics that contain all of the words. When separating words with blank spaces, the AND is inferred. You can also use a plus + or ampersand &.
OR broadens the results by retrieving topics that contains any of the words it separates. You can also use a pipe |.
NOT finds topics that contain one term but not the other. You can also use a caret ^.
Use parentheses to combine Boolean phrases and search terms. Use parentheses around the combined terms. For example, (Rich content and branding) AND (Air pricing) returns topics that contain both phrases enclosed by parentheses.
