Cat27 - Tour Code
Tour Codes (type T)
Tour Codes can be filed in Category 27 – Tours or Category 35 – Negotiated Fares. If a single fare component contains a tour code in Category 27 and in Category 35, the tour code in Cat 35 takes precedence and will be used for ticketing. In a potential pricing solution with multiple fare components:
If carcode is filed, it would never appear on the e-ticket. To have the tourcode issued on eticket, it should be filed as TOUR/OTHER (and not CarCode).
-
- Tour code conflicts within a single category will cause that solution to fail to quote. Meaning, that if the outbound has a tour code and the inbound has a different tour code, Travelport 360 Fares will not return the pricing solution.
It is important that you correctly file Tour Codes & Car Codes as a conflict will result in not being able to price
Travelport 360 Fares follows ATPCO data application for CAR/Tour codes. Check that you have the correct format selected for your required code
in the Type (byte 105) in Category 35
A common mistake is to select CAR/Value in the Type box as shown in the filing below.
When Car/Value is selected the Tour Box text is expecting two sets of data separated by a / (eg Car/Value)
The above example shows incorrect coding that would result in being unable to price the fare because the Tour box text is one word.
To solve here you could either change the Type box to Tour/Other or add more data separated by a / If carcode is filed, it would never appear on the e-ticket. To have the tourcode issued on eticket, it should be filed as TOUR/OTHER (and not CarCode).
Below is the ATPCO data application showing the options.
In the Cat.35 if you file CAR/VALUE then the system is expecting a CAR CODE followed by a VALUE CODE separated by a SLASH symbol /
So if you file CAR/VALUE with AAABBB then this is considered invalid filing by ATPCO. Since there is no / the system assume you have entered the CAR CODE only and the VALUE CODE is missing hence fares would not price
If instead of CAR/VALUE you use TOUR/OTHER then here you can enter AAABBB only since TOUR/OTHER means a TOUR CODE or OTHER, not like CAR/VALUE which means CAR PLUS VALUE CODE eg AAA/BBB

Either category can be coded to show a resulting tour code on the ticket. However, if both categories are coded with different tour codes, only the tour code found in category 35 will show on the ticket.
