Setting Up Market IDs
The interface can automatically generate Market IDs without front-room or back-room agents devising codes and entering additional ticketing/invoice remarks. (If you do not want the interface to automatically generate codes for the market ID, front-room agents can enter this information in a remark.)
Whether to generate a market ID is based on the customer type. For example, you might want market IDs generated for agent house accounts, but not for business accounts.
The code that the interface generates is based on the name and phone fields.
To access the Customer and Market ID tabs, select the System menu then Travel/Customer/Revenue Types.

Create MktID |
Create market IDs. For each customer type for which you want to store market IDs, select this option. |

Def MktID
|
Default for market IDs. Market IDs have a customer type. The interface stores the market ID with the customer type that has this option selected. (You can select only one customer type as the default for market IDs.) For example, if you have created customer type M (Marketing), you would select this option. Otherwise, you would probably select this option for customer type P (Personal). |

Excl AcctID |
Exclude account IDs. You might find that maintaining your other customer accounts is more difficult as the number of market IDs grows. Select this option if you want accounts with this customer type to not display on the Account ID screen unless you specifically request them. |
Market ID Tab
The code generated for the market ID can be based on the Name field, the Residential Phone field, or a combination of the two.

Enter the mask for the market ID. Enter N to use a character from the name field. Enter a digit to use that position from the residential phone field. (0 means the tenth digit of the phone number.) |

Notes:
- Characters from the name field are taken from left to right. Slashes and spaces are skipped.
- You can enter a mask even if you do not want the Interface to generate market IDs. If you enter the ticketing/invoice remark without a code, the interface will generate a code based on the mask, even if no customer types are marked to create market IDs through the interface.
