Galileo has worked to develop a solution that will allow Galileo customers to access ApolloÒ via a fully managed VPN connection utilizing a business-grade DSL circuit and a VPN router. VPN routers are a relatively new technology that provides a secure, hardware-based VPN connection, removing the need for VPN software to be installed and configured on each workstation. VPN routers additionally eliminate the need for proxy software by effectively connecting up to 30 workstations simultaneously. Business-grade DSL circuits will have minimum circuit speeds of 144K and in some locations 192K. This is a 250-340% increase in circuit speed compared to standard 56K Frame Relay circuits.
By deploying this solution, Galileo is offering a single connection to both the Internet and to ApolloÒ. In the fully managed VPN solution Galileo provides the installation of a business-grade DSL circuit and VPN router and will fully manage and monitor the connection and the hardware.
IMPORTANT!! Please note: It is the responsibility of the Agency to provide, install, and maintain virus detection software. Galileo shall not be held liable for any damage or disruption of service caused by virus infestation. Galileo strongly recommends the Agency contact a third party network security consultant to assess risks and add available firewall and other protections to prevent attacks from outside persons or entities.
