About Focalpoint Relay: Tools and
Functions
Focalpoint Relay is a Windows-based tool that
provides you with easy-to-use alternatives to complex and time-consuming Apollo system
tasks. Focalpoint Relay can:
 | Eliminate the need to memorize complex Apollo formats |
 | Provide consistency in your sales and business processes |
 | Improve quality control |
 | Increase your productivity |
 | Automate what you currently do manually. For example,
recover documents, process ticket exchanges, create PRO-files and manage queues |
 | Store and transfer Apollo data to other applications, such
as E-mail, facsimile devices, and third party software |
Accessing Focalpoint Relay
- Sign into Apollo
- From Focalpoint, press ALT+C to open Companions menu
- Press E to select Relay
The Relay Tools

Relay provides you with eight tools. They are:
 | Itinerary Capture - Lets the user create files from
information contained within an itinerary. |
 | Response Capture - Captures host responses to a file
or other destination device, for example, a facsimile machine. |
 | PNR to PRO-file - Creates a PRO-file record using the
information from a Passenger Name Record. |
 | Queue Manager - Provides a graphical interface for
moving PNRs in queues and managing your queues. |
 | PRO-file Editor - An editor for working locally with
your PRO-files and uploading them back into the host system. |
 | Ticket Exchange - Exchanges a ticket using easy to
complete screens that prompt you for the information required to calculate and complete
the exchange process, including electronic tickets. |
 | Print Recovery (Fallback)- Completes the steps needed
to recover and successfully print your documents and resets printers. |
 | Custom Check - Ensures that all Passenger Name
Records comply with your agency policies and back office requirements. |

Selecting a Relay Tool
There are two ways to select a tool: by using an icon or a
key combination.

 | If you are not permitted to create PRO-files, you
will not be able to use this tool. |
 | Custom Check requires your agency and users to have
permissions enabled in order to use the tool. You can remove these icons from your
toolbar. |
Removing a Tool Icon
If you do not use a tool, you can remove its icon
for the tool from the toolbar. These steps need to be performed on each
workstation.
- Press ALT+S, S to select Setup from the Select menu.
- Press ALT+S then arrow to the tool whose icon you want
to remove from the toolbar and then press ALT+R.
- Repeat step 2 for each icon you want to remove and when complete, press
Enter.
Adding a Tool Icon
If you want to add a new tool icon, you can create a new
button for the tool from the toolbar. These steps need to be performed on
each
workstation.
- Press ALT+S, S to select Setup from the Select menu.
- Press ALT+N to open the New Button dialog box.
- Arrow through the list until the tool you want is highlighted and press
Enter.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each new button you want to create and when complete, press
Enter.
Reinstate a Tool Icon
These steps need to be performed on each
workstation.
- Press ALT+S to select Setup from the Select menu.
- Highlight the tool you wish to reinstate from the "Tools not desired" column.
- Press ALT+A to add the tool the "Tools desired" column.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each tool you want to reinstate and when complete, press
Enter.
Exiting Focalpoint Relay
 | Press ALT+F , X for exit. |
Using Help

Online help is available when using the Relay tools
To Display a Menu of Help Topics:
- Press ALT+H, C to display a table of contents.
- Tab to the topic you need and press Enter.
To Search for a Specific Topic in Help:
- Press ALT+H, S to display the Search screen.
- Type the topic name in the box provided and press Enter.
- Tab to the list, then Arrow until the topic you want
is highlighted and press Enter.
