Restoring Focalpoint Default Settings

The following procedures will restore your Focalpoint windows back to their original size and screen placement. These instructions may be used for any Focalpoint  workstation running on Windows 3.x or Windows 95. Be sure to close Relay, and/or any scripts currently running before you start.

Note: The term directory in Windows 3.x is synonymous with the term folder in Windows 95. To eliminate wordiness, this document refers mostly to the term folder. For Keyboard Users

  1. From within Focalpoint, press ALT+F, O for Open from the File menu.
  2. Tab twice to move to the Directories (Windows 3.x) or Folders (Windows 95) box. Proceed according to what is displayed on the screen:
If there is a folder named DATADIR arrow up to highlight it, then press Enter.
If no DATADIR folder is visible, arrow up to highlight the drive letter (G:) and press Enter.
  1. Arrow down to highlight the APOWSTN folder, and press Enter.
  2. Press ALT+N, then Tab once.
  3. Arrow up to highlight FPOINT.FPI, then press Enter. (Wait as Focalpoint reloads the original default configuration).
  4. Press ALT+F, A to select the Save As option.
  5. Press Enter twice.

The original settings have now been restored to the workstation and will remain in effect when Focalpoint is restarted.

For Mouse Users

  1. From within Focalpoint, click File, then click Open.
  2. Under Directories (Windows 3.x) or Folders (Windows 95), proceed according to what is displayed on the screen:
If there is a folder named DATADIR, double-click the folder.
If no DATADIR folder is visible, double-click the driver letter (G:).
  1. Double-click the APOWSTN folder.
  2. Under File Name, double-click FPOINT.FPI.
    (Wait as Focalpoint reloads the original default configuration)
  3. From the File menu, click Save As. Then click OK.
  4. Click OK to confirm overwriting the FPOINT.FPI file.

The original settings have now been restored to your workstation and will remain in effect when Focalpoint is restarted.
