Galileo Desktop v2.2
Overview
For most customers, Version 2.2 supersedes versions 1.01, 2.0 and 2.1. This version should be used for all new installations, by customers who want the additional functionalities introduced with v2.0 and v2.1 and by customers who need a fix for a particular bug in previous versions.
Like the v2.1, v2.0 and v1.01 releases, Galileo Desktop v2.2 incorporates Focalpoint®, Relay, the run time version of ScriptWriter and Viewpoint™ products into one easy to use 32-bit Desktop Application. Galileo Desktop provides an easy to use graphical approach to booking travel, while keeping the traditional text based "Focalpoint" screens available. Galileo customers can easily toggle between the two views of their bookings, making quick use of their preferred method of handling various aspects of booking travel.

What's New In Version 2.2
Numerous problem tickets have been opened globally in regards to two issues in Galileo Desktop 2.1, Hotel Description discrepancy and Programmable Keys with Date/Time stamp. This release addresses fixes for both.
-
The Hotel issue was only introduced in GD2.1. Customers on GD2.0 will not have this issue and do not need to upgrade to fix this problem
-
A minor enhancement is introduced to allow setting search time defaults in air and shopping.
Hotel - Fix
A discrepancy in the Hotel Complete Availability display was identified. The error was that room type descriptions were not correctly aligned with their respective nightly rate.
A fix has been incorporated to ensure that the correct room type description is displayed with its corresponding nightly rate. Customers using v2.0 and v2.1 need to upgrade to v2.2 to fix this problem.
Programmable Keys - Fix
Users on Galileo Desktop 2.0 were no longer able to assign a date or time stamp to programmable keys. This has now been fixed and will allow for date/time stamp with programmable keys.
Timeout Issue - Fix
Some previous versions of Galileo Desktop were prone to a "time out" problem when used in conjunction with customer managed VPN, SSL Connection, Wingate, and Leased Lines line connections to Travelport's Apollo or Galileo host systems.
While working with Galileo Desktop, if no entry is made for a period of time, the connection status shown in the bottom left hand corner of the Galileo Desktop application will simply disappear.
If you are experiencing the time out issue described, you have two options
Default Settings - Minor Enhancement
Tools / Options – Agents may now set the default search time for Low Fare Shop, Optimal Shop (Apollo), Air Availability and Fare and Schedule Display (Apollo). They will still be able to over-ride the default in the request screen, as they can today.
